wearing: kimono cardi - self-made // maxi dress - cititrends // hat - thrifted // necklaces - various

there's no point to posts like these other than sometimes in the wee hours of the morning i find myself taking messy outfit photos in our messy bathroom mirror (like we used to do back in the olden days before every fashun blogger was a fancy pants fauxtographer).
i've been itching to revamp our bathroom lately. give it a coat of paint, at least.

this is about as big as the few ears of corn in my garden grew. i left this one on the counter overnight and woke to this scene - the lip lick in the first photo kills me. he also guarded that ear for the rest of the day, hugging it against his body any time the other animals came near. maybe there's a market for cat-sized ears of corn.

i gave lilbit this granny square cushion for his crate. he only sleeps in there at night since he has a hair for chasing kitties once we turn out the lights. it's funny watching him sleep - on his back, all four legs straight as sticks in the air.

i came up with this pattern and shot these photos at the end of june - that's how far behind i am. i've already had a few requests for this one and i've been promising to release it soon on ravelry and etsy, but i really hope it will be ready to go live this week. it's taken me so long because i can't decide which yarn weight i like best and i've been fiddling around with different hook sizes and gauge. i'm still torn between two options, but i'm inching towards a final decision i think. i'll also create a few listings for the cardi itself just in case you're not up for crocheting your own.

my mom's in surgery right now and i'm feeling a little nervous. i'm ready for her to be out and to get word that all is well.
sorry i haven't been around. i'll start playing blog catch-up now with things that have accumulated over the past month (or two?). i'll have a new camera soon, too.
