doings
i don't know how it got so quickly to be 3.30 am
when all i wanted to do was find a pair of sandals
and get all of my photos uploaded and blogged.
they're uploaded, but not all blogged and still it's
as late as it is. m's sleeping all alone again. he
has to get up so early to take his little one to camp in
the mornings and i'm not quite ready for bed when
he needs to be, so tonight i gave him a back rub then
sat beside him while we told each other how pretty
the other was, his pretty arms, his pretty beard,
his pretty skin, until his eyes looked heavier and
heavier with sleep. now my eyes are feeling the same
and i'm going to give him a kiss when i crawl into
bed even if it wakes him just a little bit.

etsy <3 - LemonJitters
once upon a few years ago i lived in a little state called
louisiana and worked in a little store selling little bottles
of lotion and little bars of soaps where all the girls were
pretty and most of the girls were sweet. i was quiet and i
was new, but somehow things fell the way they fell and i moved
up to a higher position. and soon after another girl who was
quiet and who was new moved up to a higher position, too.
together we fumbled around at learning to be a little bit
bossier and a little less shy which i wasn't very good at it
and always felt awkward. but this other girl who's name was
katie and this girl who's name still is katie was just the best.
and now katie has a little shop called LemonJitters with
the prettiest necklaces and the prettiest jewelry which is just
the best, too.

we are back from the beach and family and father's day
and kitty has sat on my lap for the past two hours while
i looked up websites from my issue of lucky magazine that
i have marked and circled with a red pen. i talked myself
out of everything and now i'm trying to type quietly
because both of the pretty boys in this little house are
asleep. i hear the mattress crunching under m, i've probably
woken him anyway. if not i'm sure kitty will run into the
kitchen and start mewing since she knows i'm about to ready
for bed and she thinks she can con me into a second can of food
but i'm not that easy. tonight at publix i wanted to buy
sushi for m for father's day and when we checked out my wallet
was missing from my purse and my heart thudded and i felt sweaty
and had to put my hands to my face. i was sure i'd left it
at the taco bell in north charleston next to the tall canisters
of tea. luckily instead it was on the kitchen table when we got home.
m bought the sushi and i wrote him a check after my wallet was
safely in my hands. it would not normally be so bad to lose it
but for some reason now i have so much cash around instead
of using my debit card and it seems to always be a stress. i'm afraid
every time i pay for something bills will fall unnoticed to the
ground and before i know it i won't be able to pay rent or buy cat litter.
i am so tired and it's time for bed and also i'm going to be in a
new book and i'm going to be naked and tomorrow i have to mail in my
release forms because they didn't get the ones i sent months ago. it's
this photo and i think maybe i should make scarves like that again but
i have lots of other work to do first instead.

last night ann and greg came over for dinner
and we had pasta and pesto that m made with
fresh basil picked straight from our front
yard. we had fun and we had wine and i'm
glad ann and greg are our friends. i've
never really had a friend like ann before
and i'm glad that now i do.
today we are getting things together and
packing things together because tomorrow
we're leaving together to visit my family
in mississippi. honestly i still haven't
packed my things together and i'm so tired
and antsy already. packages to send out
before we leave, too. getting that gnawing
ache in my stomach i get when money is going
out out out and none in in in. things will
be ok.

the plan for today was to make some sort of order
out of our bedroom. there are mountains there.
not just laundry, but vintage for the store, and
clothes i just never put onto the hanger. but
now i am crampy and wanting of a hot fudge sundae
and to curl into a ball. i really need to get
things done though. i want to be more organized and
enjoy our living arrangements and have things
prettier. i just don't know if i can ever not
be messy and live in piles. i hope that i can
at least try. i do wish that there were just a little
office area or studio space somewhere that i could
cheaply rent. just something bigger than a closet
where all my work things could be a little apart
from all my home things and where maybe sometimes i
could sit if i needed to be somewhere alone to remember
that i don't want to be somewhere alone.
